If your email provider is not specifically listed amongst our setup guides, you can generally follow these steps to configure IMAP access for use with Attachment Bot. Ensure you have the necessary details such as the IMAP server address and port.

Verify IMAP Access Availability

Check with your email provider or service documentation to confirm that IMAP access is supported and enabled:

  1. Log into your email account using the web interface.
  2. Navigate to settings or account settings.
  3. Look for 'IMAP', 'POP', or 'Email Forwarding' settings to ensure IMAP access is enabled.

Generate an App-Specific Password

If your email provider supports two-step verification, generate an app-specific password:

  1. Visit your email provider’s account security page.
  2. Sign in if necessary and locate the section for generating app passwords.
  3. Follow the instructions to generate a new app password, typically selecting the app or device you want to use.

Configuring Your Email Account in Attachment Bot

Once you have the necessary information:

  1. Open Attachment Bot and navigate to the accounts tab in the sidebar.
  2. Tap 'Add Account'.
  3. Enter your full email address.
  4. If applicable, use the app-specific password you generated. Otherwise, use your regular email password.
  5. Enter the IMAP server details (server address and port 993 or according to your provider’s settings).
  6. Save your account information to start accessing your emails in Attachment Bot.

Ensure you keep all generated app-specific passwords secure to prevent unauthorized access to your email account.
