Setup Guide: iCloud
To configure iCloud Mail with Attachment Bot, you need to enable two-step verification and generate an app-specific password.
Enable Two-Step Verification
If you haven't enabled two-step verification for your iCloud account yet, follow these steps:
- Go to the Apple ID account page at https://appleid.apple.com.
- Sign in with your Apple ID.
- Navigate to the 'Security' section.
- Click on 'Turn on two-factor authentication'.
- Follow the instructions to set up two-factor authentication.
Generate an App-Specific Password
Apple requires an app-specific password to use IMAP with third-party apps:
- Sign into your Apple ID account page at https://appleid.apple.com.
- Go to the 'Security' section and click 'Generate Password' under 'App-Specific Passwords'.
- Enter a label for the password (e.g., Attachment Bot).
- Click 'Create' to generate the password. Note it down as it won't be shown again.
Adding Your iCloud Account to Attachment Bot
With two-step verification enabled and your app password ready:
- Open Attachment Bot and navigate to the accounts tab in the sidebar.
- Tap 'Add Account'.
- Enter your full iCloud email address.
- Use the app-specific password you generated.
- For the IMAP server, enter 'imap.mail.me.com' and port 993.
- Save your account information to start accessing your emails in Attachment Bot.
Ensure you keep your app-specific password secure to protect access to your iCloud account.
