Setup Guide: iCloud

To configure iCloud Mail with Attachment Bot, you need to enable two-step verification and generate an app-specific password.

Enable Two-Step Verification

If you haven't enabled two-step verification for your iCloud account yet, follow these steps:

  1. Go to the Apple ID account page at https://appleid.apple.com.
  2. Sign in with your Apple ID.
  3. Navigate to the 'Security' section.
  4. Click on 'Turn on two-factor authentication'.
  5. Follow the instructions to set up two-factor authentication.

Generate an App-Specific Password

Apple requires an app-specific password to use IMAP with third-party apps:

  1. Sign into your Apple ID account page at https://appleid.apple.com.
  2. Go to the 'Security' section and click 'Generate Password' under 'App-Specific Passwords'.
  3. Enter a label for the password (e.g., Attachment Bot).
  4. Click 'Create' to generate the password. Note it down as it won't be shown again.

Adding Your iCloud Account to Attachment Bot

With two-step verification enabled and your app password ready:

  1. Open Attachment Bot and navigate to the accounts tab in the sidebar.
  2. Tap 'Add Account'.
  3. Enter your full iCloud email address.
  4. Use the app-specific password you generated.
  5. For the IMAP server, enter 'imap.mail.me.com' and port 993.
  6. Save your account information to start accessing your emails in Attachment Bot.

Ensure you keep your app-specific password secure to protect access to your iCloud account.
